If I want to watch Twitch, without any kind of auto channel point, getting annoying ads every minute and auto play front page loud videofootage of games you do not care about, then I recommend the browser. Firefox with Duck Duck Go is the only option these day to have a privacy. After a week I mailed Twitch and this is what I got in response:

Some times they'll save, but other times I go back…I know this post is old, but this same problem keeps happening to me, in the sidebar on the right the followed channels disappear and then the sidebar only shows recommended channels and what is bellow it, and then the followed channels came back.
